WHAT HAPPENS IN OUR GOTTMAN WORKSHOPS?
Gottman Workshops are designed to help couples strengthen and deepen their relationship. Through interactive activities and discussions, couples learn communication and conflict resolution skills, build empathy and understanding, and develop a more secure and connected relationship.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
At a Gottman Workshop, couples will learn communication and conflict resolution techniques, explore their relationships using interactive activities, and gain insight into their partners' emotions and thoughts. Additionally, couples will develop a deeper understanding of one another and learn how to create a more secure and connected relationship.
*If you are dealing with emotional abuse, domestic violence, unwanted touch, or substance abuse, this class is not appropriate, and you should instead seek individual or couples therapy.
THE 7 PRINCIPLES
The seven principles of a Gottman Workshop are:
1. Enhance Love Maps: Understanding your partner’s world and knowing what is important to them.
2. Nurture Fondness and Admiration: Growing the positive aspects of your relationship.
3. Turn Toward Each Other: Making the small and large moments in life count.
4. The Positive Perspective: Understanding that all relationships have both positive and negative aspects.
5. Manage Conflict: Learning how to effectively and constructively manage conflict.
6. Make Life Dreams Come True: Working together to build a shared vision of the future.
7. Create Shared Meaning: Building a unique culture and connection in your relationship.
